About the Jordan Atomic Energy Commission

The Jordan Atomic Energy Commission (JAEC) was established at the beginning of 2008 as the legal successor to the Jordan Nuclear Energy Commission, under the Nuclear Energy Law No. 42 of 2007. This establishment aimed to implement the national strategy for nuclear energy, with the goal of introducing and enhancing the peaceful applications of nuclear energy and radiation technology in Jordan. The Commission seeks to advance and manage the utilization of nuclear energy, initiate investment projects that serve Jordan's economy in these fields, and leverage nuclear energy for electricity generation, water desalination, as well as agricultural, industrial, medical, and other nuclear applications.
